Restoring Balance to the Canine Gut Microbiome

The canine gut microbiome is increasingly recognised as an important contributor to digestive, immune and wider health, but translating microbiome data into meaningful nutritional interventions remains a challenge. Drawing on BIOME9’s microbiome testing programme of more than 3,000 dogs and research collaborations across academia and industry, this lecture will explore how microbiome testing can identify dysbiosis and individual differences in the canine gut microbiome. Bushra will discuss how these insights can inform more precise approaches to diet and supplementation, using a Restore → Repopulate → Optimise framework to move beyond guesswork and one-size-fits-all recommendations.
